OTHER SERVICES

Education Placement   - Are you looking for the right school environment for your ADHD, LD or otherwise learning challenged child?  With so many choices, picking the correct environment can be an overwhelming task.  Quinn Coaching offers services that help to evaluate your child’s school options.  Within Southern Arizona, we will consult with you and your child to determine specific education needs and goals.  Then we will evaluate each education option to determine which school would best meet those goals.  We contact schools directly to discuss environment, academic rigor, expectations, and philosophy.  We determine each school’s comfort level and ability to meet the needs of students who learn differently. Finding the right school requires asking the right questions and listening to more than the spoken or written responses.  It requires digging deep into the true character of each environment.

Advocacy Services

Education Advocacy – Laws which provide for placement and accommodations of students with disabilities vary.  Definitions, rights and requirements change as students progress from early education environments through postsecondary education.  Understanding the laws, knowing how to determine eligibility, and knowing what and how to ask for legally mandated services can be critical to academic success.

Dr. Quinn has served as an education advocate for children and families at all levels of the education experience.  She provides individual training for parents and students so that they can advocate for themselves.  She also accompanies individuals to school meetings when requested, acting in those meetings as a professional advocate representing the interests of the child.

Employment Advocacy – Dr. Quinn provides training for employed individuals with disabilities who wish to develop stronger self-advocacy skills in the workplace.  She helps individuals identify when to disclose a disability, how to reveal disability information, and what accommodations to request.  She also helps individuals understand their rights in the workplace and how to negotiate the work environment in a way that benefits both the individual and the employer; thereby preserving a strong working relationship.
